All the teams featured in the thread will be viable teams for anyone to use - even if they may take more skill to use them with success.

    Double Sleeper + Slowpoke

    Standard team. Tangela is a good back-up sleeper in case you lose a Venomoth speed tie turn 1, and it combines well with Slowpoke since it’s a good answer to the bad Abra and Fire types match ups, or even if you lose against Poliwag. The team can be a bit slow sometimes but it answers to pretty much everything in the tier.

    Variants : Abra or Staryu in the spot of Slowpoke are a possibility, in which case I would drop Blastoise for Omastar since it makes the team weaker to Fires and Abra. Weepinbell can be used over Tangela, meaning Slowpoke is mandatory in the last slot.

    Standard team that covers everything. With this one you can be very offensive early game. If I don’t have much history with my opponent, I like to immediately switch to Venomoth if I face an Abra/Moth lead. I tend to run Arcanine because I like taking sleep/paralysis on it, but Rapidash is fine. Slowpoke takes care of Abra and is a solid answer to Blastoise lead if you don’t want to go Pory/Moth/Toise for whatever reason. Staryu is the only thing that can be annoying in some scenarios. It’s also usuable in the spot of Slowpoke in this team since Tangela is well covered.

    Standard format team. The association of Nidoking and Nidoqueen is a pain to take down. Slowpoke is mandatory to take care of Abra, Blastoise, and Venomoth, three annoying pokemon for this team. Staryu is the only real potential nuisance. The strategy is to paralyse it and Blastoise, then blast through the opposite team. Blastoise baits out opposite Blastoise and Staryu to do so, and is used as a lead here to avoid risking your Venomoth on a speed tie first turn, even though it makes Venomoth leads annoying. This team allows you to be quite loose with Nidoking.

    I like Magneton because it can be a real savage, unfortunately it’s hard to make work out since it’s a free Nidoking switch-in. This team aims to punish that move by doubling to either Venomoth or Abra, which is the reason why I don’t lead them. Blastoise has to take care of this task since I’m not dropping any staple, and I want a bulky Water type. The team can struggle against Poliwag. Non lead Fire-types can also be a problem but they aren't common.

    Variants : Electrode is usuable insead of Magneton, plus you can lead it if you want. Leading Venomoth is possible but that means you can have serious troubles if you lose a ditto. Leading Abra also is but it makes it tougher to execute the initial strategy. Also you can go with Machamp instead of Abra, since it is one of the only things in the tier that can switch-in Nidoking’s EQ and fight back. The team is kinda gimmick overall.

    Standard team. Tangela is a good back-up sleeper in case you lose a Venomoth speed tie turn 1, and it combines well with Slowpoke since it’s a good answer to the bad Abra and Fire types match ups, or even if you lose against Poliwag. The team can be a bit slow sometimes but it answers to pretty much everything in the tier.

    Variants : Abra or Staryu in the spot of Slowpoke are a possibility, in which case I would drop Blastoise for Omastar since it makes the team weaker to Fires and Abra. Weepinbell can be used over Tangela, meaning Slowpoke is mandatory in the last slot.

    Standard team that covers everything. With this one you can be very offensive early game. If I don’t have much history with my opponent, I like to immediately switch to Venomoth if I face an Abra/Moth lead. I tend to run Arcanine because I like taking sleep/paralysis on it, but Rapidash is fine. Slowpoke takes care of Abra and is a solid answer to Blastoise lead if you don’t want to go Pory/Moth/Toise for whatever reason. Staryu is the only thing that can be annoying in some scenarios. It’s also usuable in the spot of Slowpoke in this team since Tangela is well covered.

    Standard format team. The association of Nidoking and Nidoqueen is a pain to take down. Slowpoke is mandatory to take care of Abra, Blastoise, and Venomoth, three annoying pokemon for this team. Staryu is the only real potential nuisance. The strategy is to paralyse it and Blastoise, then blast through the opposite team. Blastoise baits out opposite Blastoise and Staryu to do so, and is used as a lead here to avoid risking your Venomoth on a speed tie first turn, even though it makes Venomoth leads annoying. This team allows you to be quite loose with Nidoking.

    I like Magneton because it can be a real savage, unfortunately it’s hard to make work out since it’s a free Nidoking switch-in. This team aims to punish that move by doubling to either Venomoth or Abra, which is the reason why I don’t lead them. Blastoise has to take care of this task since I’m not dropping any staple, and I want a bulky Water type. The team can struggle against Poliwag. Non lead Fire-types can also be a problem but they aren't common.

    Variants : Electrode is usuable insead of Magneton, plus you can lead it if you want. Leading Venomoth is possible but that means you can have serious troubles if you lose a ditto. Leading Abra also is but it makes it tougher to execute the initial strategy. Also you can go with Machamp instead of Abra, since it is one of the only things in the tier that can switch-in Nidoking’s EQ and fight back. The team is kinda gimmick overall.
