The competitive Pokémon scene is saturated with misinformed stupid idiots trash talking each other. Even those who attempt to be objective often do a terrible job when analyzing other players. Thus, in order to put an end to this severe toxicity that plagues our world, I will write something positive and uplifting about those who post in this thread.

You are a tireless, extremely committed individual. Not only have your copious contributions to various aspects of the game been an invaluable source of information for new players, but they have resulted in Pokemon Perfect's ascension from an unknown independent entity to a legitimate competitor and threat to Smogon. In addition to your penchant for discussions and development, your narrations of several important tournament matches have enhanced the credibility and prestige of the tournament scene. No matter how great a player is, he or she is easily replaceable. It's far greater of a challenge to replace a great promoter and advocate.

However, it would be a grave mistake to dismiss your success as a player. Although you've never won a tournament, your persistence and desire to always improve have resulted in you reaching the top 10 of the RBY OU leaderboard. What makes this achievement even more impressive is how much you've juggled throughout this time: managing the forum, organizing tournaments, narrating games, leading discussions, and so on. You've also managed to become a proficient ADV player, a claim that only a very few of us RBY specialists hold. Wear your ADV rankings medal with pride.

Indeed, your energy knows no bounds.

Though you joined Pokémon Perfect just recently, you've already proven yourself to be a well-spoken, well-mannered, and well-tempered individual in a short amount of time. Your posts are thoughtful and indicate an impressive knowledge of old-gen history, particularly GSC, which will always be in dire need of intelligent and passionate people such as yourself. It would not surprise me in the slightest if you were to go on achieve greatness in the generation that has piqued your interest, for you already seem to possess all of the tools necessary to do so.

You truly are a versatile player, having displayed skill across multiple generations--no wonder you were a member of the winning team of the first PPL. However, it wasn't merely your ability that earned you success. Unlike other players who are quick to boast about their accomplishments like the braggadocious bombasts that they love being, you are a humble individual who is grateful for the success he finds and respects the opponents who defeat you. Whether in victory or in defeat, you are honest--which is, honestly, a rare trait to find in this black hole of the internet known as competitive Pokémon. I'm confident you will remain a respected and well-liked member in this world, and will always be able to find people who would gladly endeavor to assist you whenever you are in need of guidance when building teams, learning metagames, and so on.

Just want to try my best at uplifting you GGFan, since you've kindly did it for others but neglected yourself so far.

    GGFan

Amazing! How do you do it, GGFan?

You've always been like this. Ever since the first day I met you. Always ready to meet the next challenge, even if it's bigger than you are.

I used to RBY for the sheer pleasure of it; for the thrill of the hunt, oh I had the strength unmeasurable - I spared no one, and found plenty of corrupt excuses to remove you from tournaments. And yet, you showed mercy to everyone, even your fiercest enemies, even me! Yet, you never fought to pwn, or for revenge. Only to test your limits and to push yourself beyond them, to become the strongest you could possibly be. How can an RBY veteran compete like that and at the same time be so gentle that he wouldn't hurt a fly? It makes me angry just thinking about it! But, perhaps it is my anger that has made me blind to the truth for so long. I see it now, this day has made it all too clear.

You're better than me GGFan. You are the best.

To say that you are a good or even a great ADV player is an understatement. Your dedication towards this metagame is astounding, as you have earned a reputation as one of its best players despite already being on the north side of 20. However, despite limitations imposed by your age and other commitments, you did an admirable job hosting a previous ADV season, and have continued to perform tremendously well on the ladder. You possess laudable resilience as well; for example, bouncing back from an underwhelming PPL and remaining one of the most difficult obstacles that players must overcome in Master Tournaments.

Another area you excel in is analysis. When engaging in discussion, you write some of the most thoughtful and well-written posts on the forum. Perhaps a future as a full-time analyst would suit you. Whatever you choose to do, I'm certain you will be successful.

As you say, it is disappointing and--dare I say--tragic, how your egregious relationship with corruption has resulted in my premature and unfair elimination from previous tournaments (literally "lol you don't win, he wins tourney restarted"). However, this is in the past now. "Past," a word that gives you comfort everyday. It was in the past when, after six whole years of accomplishing nothing, you finally had a good year. To you, it was so good that you would become one of the part-timers that you adore so much the year after. While you are now known as a one-year wonder whose one year is already so far back that it means nothing, it would remiss to not acknowledge your accomplishments, as they ARE impressive.

You won the very first season with a whopping 18 out of 36 points. When things became more oh-so-slightly more competitive, you put up a fight but were unable to win a season when losing in the first round was no longer an option. You put on one of the most legendary tournament performances of all time in the first RBY OU World Championship, where you beat some guy and some other guy and then had a fantastic best-of-five showdown in the semi finals against Green "One Mean Team" Gyarados, unfortunately losing in not five, four, but three games to his well-trained Thunderbolt Tauros, Leech Seed Exeggutor, and Confuse Ray Gengar.

As dominant as you were, you were smart to realize that, by 2014, you were already in your twilight. After another first-round loss to some guy in Master Tournament #7, you would dust yourself up after falling flat and stand tall long enough to lose to me and then pass the match to marcoasd in Master Tournament #8. I respect you enormously for riding off into the sunset towards Smogon, where a golden age of pandering would take place over the next three years, instead of continuing to put your body on the line in old age. What can I say? I've found the fountain and youth and don't want to share it.

Congratulations, Lutra. I may be the best, but I would be nothing without the likes of you.
